Physiotherapy for Pain Relief & Recovery
Evidence-based treatment modalities to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and restore mobility
Comprehensive Physiotherapy Solutions
Physiotherapy includes a variety of treatment modalities that are aimed at reducing inflammation and pain as well as improving flexibility and strength. These treatment modalities are a perfect complement to chiropractic care as well as acupuncture treatment.
At Sol Spine and Injury in Burbank, CA, we proudly feature the electro-Acuscope and Myopulse instruments. When it comes to efficiency and safety, these two modalities are rarely matched. For a majority of our patients the use of these modalities significantly reduces pain and discomfort within 4-6 treatments.
Specialized Therapeutic Equipment
The Electro-Acuscope
The Electro-Acuscope is an Electro-therapeutic instrument that acts upon subcutaneous tissue to reduce pain and inflammation. It will also improve blood flow in circulatory impaired tissue. Sol Spine & Injury in Burbank CA uses this instrument in the treatment of a variety of conditions.
Many types of tissue cells have membranes that are voltage-sensitive, and Electro-therapeutic currents can increase the entrance of substances such as calcium ions, which turn on repair mechanisms within those cells. The Electro-Acuscope monitors the electrical conductivity and impedance of the tissue, and also computes important electrical characteristics of the tissue from the current and voltage pulses themselves. Using this information, it adjusts the shape of those current and voltage pulses in order to optimize treatment effectiveness.
Key Benefits
- Reduces inflammation and pain at the tissue level
- Improves blood flow in circulatory impaired tissue
- Activates cellular repair mechanisms
- Adapts treatment based on tissue response
- Non-invasive and safe for most patients
The Myopulse
The Myopulse instrument is designed to treat connective tissue associated primarily with muscle. The amplitude of the current and voltage pulses continuously varies within a "sinusoidal modulation envelope." It is well established that the membrane of each muscle fiber contains voltage-controlled calcium ion channels.
Much of the effectiveness of the Myopulse instrument appears to be due to modest increases in internal calcium which, though inadequate to cause muscle contraction, could still result in increased ATP and protein synthesis to prevent atrophy, accelerate repair and alleviate pain. Since the current and voltage pulses have constantly varying amplitudes over the 4 second period of each modulation envelope cycle since impulses will be optimal for each portion of the three-dimensional network of connective/muscle pulse pattern. In effect, certain pulses will be large enough to activate voltage-controlled channels while others will maintain a higher threshold ion channels especially in regions of the current field that are closest to the electrodes. In addition to monitoring the current waveform of each pulse, the Myopulse monitors special current and voltage monitoring impulses to provide tissue impedance information.
Key Benefits
- Treats connective tissue associated with muscle
- Helps prevent muscle atrophy
- Accelerates tissue repair processes
- Alleviates pain through multiple mechanisms
- Adaptable treatment for various tissue conditions
Exercise Physio - Therapy
An extremely important part of recovery is re-training the injured structures to regain flexibility and strength; this is where exercise therapy plays in. Injuries such as car accidents, sports injuries, and slips and falls all take their toll on the body. Yet even after the inflammation is under control, Dr. Kazandjian, chiropractor in Burbank, CA, will prescribe a regimen of stretches and exercises which are tailored to increasing flexibility and strengthening the injured and surrounding tissues to optimize recovery and prevent future injury.
Following a thorough assessment, Dr. Kazandjian will prescribe exercises based on the latest and most advanced exercise and rehab science available. To make things as easy as possible for each patient, he usually prescribes and emails his patients videos with specific instructions targeting their injured body parts. This prescribed regimen is constantly reviewed and updated throughout the patients’ recovery process.
